“My partner and I were staying at a hotel in Cappadocia, and one of the employees told us about a magical sunrise spot that we absolutely had to see. He took out a map and showed us exactly where to go, but in our early-morning stupor, we got lost and almost missed the big event. We finally found the location with only minutes to go. As hot air balloons passed overhead, it felt like the whole Earth was standing still. The light from the desert sun was warm and golden, and we could only hear the clicks of our cameras and the soothing sounds of the flames keeping the balloons aloft. Even though we took a few photos, we were so mesmerized that we didn’t care if we got ‘the shot.’ It was an unforgettable experience that made us both feel incredibly calm and happy — it’s safe to say that Cappadocia brought out the best in us.” 📷@xkflyaway 📍Cappadocia, Turkey 🇹🇷 #passionpassport Eager to learn more about Turkey? “Looking back on our time in Cambodia, I think the color yellow and the feeling of warmth, happiness, and adventure it provoked played a wonderful part in our experience. We got very lucky with the weather, and each sunrise and sunset bathed everything it touched in the most magical golden light. This pushed us to make the most out of our time every day — we always made it outside for sunrise and sunset, even when we were tired from our daily activities. If it weren’t for this opportunity as winners of the #PPExpediaYellow contest sponsored by @expedia, we might not have visited Cambodia any time soon. It was one of our favorite trips, full of moments we will remember for a lifetime.” Click the link in our bio to read more about @tom.shu’s journey and Cambodia’s brilliant hues. 📍Angkor Wat, Cambodia 🇰🇭#ExpediaPic #passionpassport

“Located an hour away from Bangkok is Wat Sampran, a Buddhist temple like no other. I originally came across it online and knew that I had to experience it for myself. After some planning, I woke up early to get there for sunrise, only to feel I was in a different world. As a fan of ‘Dragon Ball Z’ growing up, the nostalgia I felt was powerful — taking me back to my childhood and reminding me Shenron, a dragon from the show. To this day, Wat Sampran remains one of my favorite pieces of architecture I’ve ever witnessed.” 📷@_deepsky 📍Wat Sampran, Khlong Mai, Thailand 🇹🇭 What travel destinations have transported you to another world? “While on assignment in Peru, I trekked through the Cordillera Huayhuash, and these folks were our escorts as we journeyed through their homeland. It was unbelievable how much faster they were than us. Over the course of three days, we hiked 65km at an altitude as high as 4750m. I was feeling sick due to the altitude, but the scenery at Lago Jahuacocha allowed me to forget about it all, even if it was just for a moment. I never realized Peru’s landscape had so much versatility beyond Machu Picchu!” Interested in having your own outdoor Peruvian adventure? “It was late November, and Moscow had already experienced two consecutive weeks of cold, gray weather. But on this day, nature decided to give us a gift. When I saw the sun climbing over the horizon, I excitedly made my way over to the city center. Even though it was early, I noticed other people hurrying through the streets as well, cameras in hand, asking others to take photos of them near the city’s landmarks. As I composed my shot of St. Basil’s Cathedral, I felt grateful for the beautiful morning — both for myself and for the visitors, too. The sun had given us all a reason to smile.” 📷@mazurevanasta 📍Moscow, Russia 🇷🇺 #passionpassport
